Ethical Hosting Policy
At Fishfood Hosting, we have an ethical hosting policy. That means we don’t host sites with undesirable content, or sites that might compromise the security of our servers.
This list includes (but isn’t limited to):
- Pornography and sex-related merchandising
- Links to pirated software, hacker programs or archives, Warez sites
- Sites which promote hatred towards persons belonging to any ethnic group, religion or sexual orientation
- Sites which infringe copyright or are contrary to UK laws
- Sites that promote alcohol and tobacco products.
- Sites that distribute alcohol or tobacco free or for a charge
- Sites hosting online gambling or lotteries that invite the use of real or virtual money, virtual casinos and offshore gambling ventures, sports picks and betting pools, as well as virtual sports and fantasy leagues that offer large rewards or request significant wagers.
- Sites with information or advice for placing wagers, participating in lotteries, gambling, or running numbers.
- Sites providing promotion, instruction or advice on the questionable or illegal use of equipment and/or software (especially for purposes including hacking passwords, creating viruses, and/or gaining access to other computers/computerized communication systems).
- Sites that provide instruction or work-arounds for filtering software.
- Sites that host cracked software, “warez”, pirated software and multimedia download sites.
- Sites with recipes, instructions or kits for manufacturing or growing illicit substances for purposes other than industrial usage.
- Sites that glamorize, encourage, or instruct on the use of or masking the use of alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, or other substances that are illegal to minors.
- Sites distributing illegal drugs free or for a charge and those displaying, selling, or detailing use of drug paraphernalia.
- Sites advocating or inciting degradation or attack of specified populations or institutions based on associations such as religion, race, nationality, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
- Sites promoting a political or social agenda that is supremacist in nature and/or exclusionary of others based on their race, religion, nationality, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
- Sites that coerce or recruit for membership in a gang or cult or that are promote militancy or extremist activities.
- Sites with flagrantly insensitive or offensive material, including lack of recognition or respect for opposing opinions and beliefs.
- Sites with offensive or violent language, including jokes, comics or satire.
- Sites with excessive use of profanity or obscene gesticulation.
- Sites that can cause malware/spyware infections (or are associated with phishing attacks) or sites that perpetrate fraud.
- Sites portraying, describing or advocating physical assault against humans, animals, or institutions.
- Sites advocating, encouraging, or depicting self-endangerment, or suicide, including through eating disorders or addictions.
- Sites promoting terrorism or with instructions, recipes or kits for making bombs or other harmful or destructive devices.
- Sites for excessively violent sports or games (including video and online games).
- Sites for online purchasing or ordering information, including lists of prices and dealer locations.
- Sites predominantly containing, or providing links to, content related to the sale of guns, weapons, ammunition or poisonous substances.
- Sites displaying or detailing the use of guns, weapons, ammunition or poisonous substances.
- Sites for clubs which offer training on machine guns, automatic and other assault weapons and/or sniper training.
